Introduction
About this guide
This guide describes how to use the Active Directory module of
eMailSignature. This module contains features that use AD data to optimize generated email signatures.
This guide is intended for system administrators.
Requirements
The installation for the
Active Directory is not a stand-alone application. It only works in conjunction with eMailSignature.
Note: A fully functioning installation of eMailSignature must be up and running before the AD Module can be used.

AD Module of eMailSignature will only work if you have a valid
license key entered. For information on managing licenses, see the Administering eMailSignature Guide.
Active Directory module overview
The AD Module consists of three features that are described in this guide:
- PhoneBook: a tool that allows to centrally view and maintain AD user information.
- AD Update: a feature that requests users to update their own information in AD.
- vCard Deployment: a feature that permits to centrally deploy electronic business cards, then link this information as a vCard to generated email signatures.
Locating the Active Directory module
To locate the Active Directory module, double-click the
Cockpit icon on the desktop. Active Directory
toolbar is located in the Modules
tab of the Cockpit.
If the Active Directory module is not enabled, please obtain a valid
license key from eMailSignature. In the
Standard Edition, only the Disclaimer module and the PhoneBook viewer are enabled. For information on managing licenses, see the Administering eMailSignature Guide.
